Watermelon Cider

Somersby is one if my favorite drinks. My favorite is mango lemon. I went ti Greece and i found watermelon, and now its my second favorite 🤩

MAN I’ve never tried watermelon cider before!!! It’s got a tiny bit of that artificial watermelon-y taste that reminds me of the watermelon bubble gum my brother and I used to wheedle our parents into buying on our semi-frequent trips to Johor when we were younger LOL.

I digress. Anyway, I really enjoyed this! It’s got the typical sweetness of a cider beverage but none of the too-saccharine taste that you might get sometimes with these types of drinks. I had a second bottle the next day but I’d left it out for a bit and concluded it definitely tastes better when chilled.

I would like to apologize for not giving a proper review as unfortunately i can’t remember anything from last night.

I found it too sweet in a sense for an alcoholic beverage but in the same time also not. Idk this drink confused me. It was also very fruity like melon-like (I mean duh it’s watermelon) but it was really unpleasant in my opinion. Idk how else to say, “I’m really not a fan” but I was really not a fan. I’ll stick to apple cider as it’s much tastier.

Also something very very odd. It’s made out of apple cider actually and no where in the ingredients mention watermelon. (I bet it’s synthetic) so maybe this unpleasant fruit taste came from some sort of placebo in the mind.

Whatever. Overall: 2/10 not a fan. #abillionlove maybe more #abillionhate. #alcohol

I unfortunately haven’t any nice Malay dishes to share with anyone today as would be tradition for Hari Raya, but I do have a funny story about cider 🍺 I had a friend that would celebrate Eid al-Fitr by having a cider instead of a lager because it was, in his words, “less sinful” 😂 I believe the same logic extends to vaping over having a cigarette 🤣 Anyhow, this was a lovely #accidentallyvegan cider - just the right amount of sweetness! & Eid Mubarak to all those celebrating 🤗 #ditchdairydrinkbeer

Kinda miss the apple cider after having a sip of this. Maybe its subtlety is lost on me - felt that it was just kinda like a fizzy soda :|
