In a partnership between the Brazilian Vegetarian Society, Fórum Nacional de Proteção e Defesa Animal and Escape 60’ we developed a vegan escape room about the life of laying hens during the four days of Vegfest Brazil 2022 - which took place between December 8 and 11 in the city of São Paulo. With free entrance and an environment simulating the life of hens exploited for egg production, the experience raised awareness to over 500 participants.

A Escape Room is a game in which a team of players discover clues to solve puzzles, and accomplish tasks in one or more rooms in order to achieve a specific goal in a limited amount of time. In the Vegfest experience, participants had 10 minutes to decipher codes, find hidden items, and solve riddles about laying hens and the egg production industry. The objective of the attraction was to entertain, but mainly to raise awareness about cruel practices, as well as the possibility of following a plant-based diet.

The next Vegfest Brazil will take place between October 12th and 15th in São Paulo and we are already brainstorming on a new version of a vegan escape room for the public.
