Review of Majesty Hami Melon - Five Crowns Marketing by kyu
A good hami #melon is absolutely divine. I remember learning in Chinese school about the complicated trade route once required to transport these melons from Western China; luckily, these days they’re available in many U.S. supermarkets. Scoop, chop, and chill for an ultra-refreshing summertime treat!
This melon has juicy, light-orange flesh that resembles cantaloupe, but the similarities largely end there. Hami gua is crisp and crunchy even when very ripe; it exudes a sugary and fresh-tasting nectar. It’s easy to see why they were such a coveted delicacy. If you dislike spongy, mushy, and mealy melon as much as I do, give this #sweet and flavorful #fruit a try! A word of warning, though: you may not be able to go back.
Purchased at Costco but unfortunately I can’t recall how much it cost. I have been buying more of these lately, though, since watermelon quality has been so inconsistent (plus, prices seem to have gone up.) Hami melons, on the other hand, rarely disappoint — therefore I give them my highest possible recommendation!
