Review of Mylk Chocolate + Peanut Butter Crispy Wafer Bar - Trupo Treats by beckyyy

I’ve been following Trupo Treats for a bit, giving to their original campaign/launch.

I was excited after they launched these newer products but didn’t purchase them right away because they were being sold in high quantities and my boyfriend is not so much of a #chocoholic .

I was excited to see that Veg News partnered with Trupo Treats to sell a special box with two sets of each flavor (choc, choc PB and choc hazelnut) so I purchased it.

These bars are marketed as vegan KitKats, but in reality I think they are closer to Nutty Bars. These do not have a thick, snap in half layer of chocolate like Kit Kats but have a thin coating of chocolate all around like Nutty Bars. There are two bars per pack; they are skinny like KK but long like NB - almost like a Nutty Bar cut in half.

These are super satisfying to crunch into. The mylk chocolate is nice and sweet but not overwhelmingly so. I really wish there was more peanut butter filling. It tastes nice but it gets a bit overpowered and it adds nothing to the texture. Maybe I’m just stuck in nostalgia thinking about deconstructing Nutty Bars layer by layer and the amount of the peanut butter in those….but honestly the answer when peanut butter is involved is typically MORE is better 😋

I love that this company is started by two vegan brothers and crowd-funded and that they are committed to producing ethical chocolate and donating portions of their profits to animal sanctuaries.
