Review of Tteok Bok Ki - Trader Joe's by triciaa
I really liked these Korean rice cakes in sauce a lot! The rice cakes have an awesome chewy texture like mochi and the sauce is a nice balance of sweet and spicy. Even though it’s frozen, there are a couple of steps to prepare. I did the extra crispy preparation where you pan fry the rice cakes before submerging in the sauce. I will definitely buy this again!

berryveganplanet I don’t remember ever seeing this at my local Trader Joe’s . I will have to see if I can find it! I wonder if I can air-fry instead of cooking in oil. Love 🌶 foods! Yum!1 likeReply
triciaa We just saw it for the first time last week so it might be a new one they are rolling out to other locations soon. I think you could certainly air fry them! You can also skip the frying all together and add them directly to the sauce to poach them. I just wanted to get that extra chewy texture but poaching would still be very chewy, I think. 1 likeReply
