Review of California Pizza with Vegan Cheese at Goat Hill Pizza by paniwilson

Old school pizzeria established in 1975 and still loved by everyone in the neighborhood.   Pizzas are baked on their housemade sourdough and seem to have garlic powder on the crust. Yum!
They do have vegan cheese that you can request, and I only know that because my wife read it on some reviews of this place. For some reason it is not mentioned on their website that they offer vegan cheese, but it should be!
We got the California Pizza that contains artichoke, tomato, and garlic and of course we ordered it with the vegan cheese.  The flavor was great and the crust was fantastic. A proper pizza! My only complaint is the overload of tomatoes made this pizza a bit wet and messy to eat. I feel like it could've used way less tomatoes and it would've been better that way.
It was great reheated as  leftovers when everything firmed up  but it would be been nice to have the pizza fresh without it dripping so much.
It is great that they are generous with toppings but if you get the California, I suggest asking for light tomatoes. Everything else was perfect!

Goat Hill Pizza apparently used to actually have real goats 🐐
at this location living in the open space behind the pizza place and that's where they got the name. The goats haven't been here since 1985 but the name stuck.
