Meadows

The brand I am reviewing is Meadows Extra Virgin Olive Oil, which my hubby bought from Cold Storage.

Meadows has met what I looked for in olive oil:

(1)It is Extra Virgin Olive Oil✅

(2) It is cold extracted or cold pressed✅

Extra virgin olive oil is the highest grade of olive oil and I use it for making salad dressing sauces. 🥰

Cold pressed or cold extract is a process that extracts the olive oil without heat and chemicals. Heat destroys nutrients that are sensitive to temperature. Extra virgin olive oil is always cold pressed to ensure it retains the most goodness. Hence, I add to pasta only after turning off the fire.

As it is the least refined olive oil, it also has the lowest smoking point. Avoid using Extra Virgin olive oil to deep fry or stir fry, the oil will 🔥 burn. Use the refined olive oil, which doesn’t have the word “Extra Virgin” or “Virgin”👌🏻

(3) It is 100% Extra Virgin Olive Oil✅ Nothing else

(4) Meadows has great “oil dispensing” design✅

We usually pour the oil directly from the bottle. In the past, my children had experience in which they really poured too much. 😭 They had forgotten to go slow.

The oil came gushing out! Our eyes and mouths were wide open, screaming “OH NO!” 😱 It was not something I liked it to happen, unfortunately, it did.

Thus, I really really appreciated these few small openings. It solves my problem. It is the little things that counts, and makes the difference in customers’ satisfaction. This design definitely scores a plus point with me👍🏻

(5) It is affordable at $11.20, at time of writing

However, Meadows Extra Virgin Olive Oil lacks the aroma and depth of the olive oil I am looking for.

Nevertheless, I am very thankful for companies to offer vegan and good products available to everyone at an affordable price.

This is something that I feel deeply in for Vegan and healthy food to be made easily accessible and affordable to everyone. If people chose otherwise, it is because of ignorance or personal choice. No one is to be denied of its goodness because they cannot afford to pay for it.

Thank you so much for reading, and I hope you have an enjoyable time. Wishing you healthy and wealthy ❤️

mparramon This is the most comprehensive review I’ve ever seen, you should get an award for it! 👏 👏 👏 Couple of tips for olive oil (specially extra virgin): 1. Keep it in a dark place, a sunlight exposure dampens the taste and smell. 2. Look for Spanish olive oil brands like Carbonell 🇪🇸, they are cheaper than the Italian and of very high quality (I’m a bit biased on this though due to my roots 😜) again, amazing review, congrats!3 likesReply
fulfilling Thank you, thank you, thank you 😊 What would you name the award? 😁 You have shared two very useful tips, especially the first one on storing olive oil. It reminds of some dark tinted bottles of some brands of olive oil to preserve the quality of the oil inside. Next on my list, I will look for Spanish Olive oil. I have only known of Italian Olive oil. Thank you for sharing this ☺️1 likeReply
mparramon We could name it “The Olive Branch”? 🫒🌿 :P do let us know how does your next olive oil fares! :)1 likeReply
