This tempeh was quite delicious 😋
I roughly pulled the tempeh to resemble something like chicken pieces and fried them with some onion and vegan curry paste then cooked in the organic coconut cream, cashews and vegetables.
First time trying tempeh, thought may as well while it was on a quick sale. I think I should have cut it into smaller pieces or marinated for longer because it was a bit unpleasant unfortunately. I’ll try a bit harder next time 😂
I've had some funky tasting tempeh in my life, some harder to love than others, and I'm happy to report that this one is a goody! The texture is amazing and holds up really well during cooking, and it absorbs flavours really well too. The nutty flavour is just right, and not too overwhelming. I mostly air fry or pan fry these first before adding to anything with a sauce (i.e. curries). They are also great as a crispy addition to any rice meal / Buddha bowl or crumbled as a mince substitute for burritos, pasta sauce etc.
