This is my go to falafel recipe. This time, I switched things up and made tacos from this with a smooth tahini drizzle. Serve these bad boys up with rice and chopped romaine lettuce, and you're in business!
Red Falafel Tacos
Servings: 4-5 Tacos
Active time: 30 min
Ingredients
*For the Falafel
- 2 cans of chickpeas
- 50g coconut cream
- 50g raw cashews
- 1/2 red onion
- 1 tbsp garlic
- juice of a lemon
- a handful of cilantro/coriander
- 2 tbsp cumin seeds
- 2 tbsp ground flax
- 1 tbsp salt
- 1/2 tbsp black pepper
For the Tahini Drizzle
- 3 tbsp tahini
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp garlic
*Texture should be slightly thick, add more tahini if watery.
Method
Add everything to the food processor except the chickpeas.
Now add the chickpeas after the rest is smooth, and coarsely chop up chickpeas.
Now toss these into a saute pan until they start to get crispy. Set aside.
Make the tahini drizzle in a blender and assemble your tacos with whatever toppings you like.
Drizzle that smooth tahini all over those babies and enjoy!
