Veggie Burger

I loathe LAX Airport and the minuscule vegan options they have. There’s a place called Earth Bar which at first sight looks as though they’d offer some vegan options, but the only vegan items they have are smoothies & cookies, everything savory that they offer contains chicken. 🙄 Makes so much sense, since every meat-eater I know demands that their cookies be vegan. (sarcasm)😂
I had no choice but to settle on The Habit burger, which isn’t very exciting but at least their veggie burger is affordable compared to most of the airport food options here—$9. I did run into a somewhat annoying and misleading issue with their menu, however. After ordering on their digital kiosk system, I quickly noticed that their menu shows options for the bread/bun choice (swipe to see menu photo), so I went up to the counter to ask if my veggie burger order could be made on a toasted ciabatta, which is one of the listed options. I was told that in order to do that, there is an up-charge. I pointed out that nowhere on the menu does it indicate this choice as an up-charge, and that the list of bread options for their signature sandwiches appears as a choice. They again told me that they could do ciabatta but would have to charge me. Since I had already paid, I told them never mind. This burger came on a wheat bun and comes with tomato, lettuce, cucumbers, and dijon mustard on it. It’s nothing to rave about. I also wish they didn’t serve all of their burgers in these unsustainable black plastic boxes with a clear lid on top. They could easily wrap their burgers in paper like so many other burger chains in order to reduce their single-use plastic footprint.
I can confidently say that I would never make this place a habit if they were in my area. 😆 They have a lot of room for improvement when it comes to the specifics on their menu and also their packaging/presentation. I will no doubt be poking them.
