Here’s a shout out to @joannalumley for her huge dedication to helping animals.
She is a patron of the campaign charity Compassion In World Farming CIWF who have spent years putting pressure on the UK government to ban the live export of farmed animals.
It’s another of the hideous practices still allowed around the world where the extreme stress, illness and injury the animals endure can go on for journeys of up to 35 days. Thousands of animals die in transit each year. Many of those that survive the journey are handled roughly at their destination, killed while fully conscious and many suffer outright brutality. Any support we can give is valuable to charities like this to bring it to an end. The power of petitioning alone has really helped this cause.

Now, with the Bill to #BanLiveExports set to have its two final stages in the House of Lords later this month, we're on the cusp of finally ending this awful trade, for good.

Joanna, and so many of you, have relentlessly campaigned to get us to this point, and we couldn't be more grateful. 💚’
